I’m a sophomore at Occidental College in Los Angeles, a city that I have mixed feelings for. I do not have mixed feelings for Boston, the city I tell people I am from even though in truth I live 10 minutes outside of the city and I did not often venture into the city while growing up.
I have not been writing long, but I’ve found that it is one of the few things I really enjoy and my primary source of catharsis. In an ideal world, I will apply this fondness and catharsis to make money as a writer for film and/or television, another subject in which I take great pleasure and interest.
For reasons of clarity and to reassure any worried hearts, I like to think that I am not as moody, depressed, lonely or meloncholy as some of my writing might suggest. This is a result of my preference for writing at night, a time when I can tend to be more mood, depressed, lonley or meloncholy. However, in general, I am a happy person with plenty of supportive and caring friends. Though if I want to be a successful writer, maybe I shouldn’t tell people that…

I’m the same way with Detroit. I live north of Atlanta, but I don’t really consider it my home.
If someone asks me where I’m from, I always answer, “Detroit.” But when I lived there I rarely ever went into the city.
